The PA Department of Environmental Protection’s Mosquito-Borne Disease Program will be conducting a truck mounted ultra-low volume (ULV) mosquito control operation in Greene Township, Chambersburg Borough, and Mont Alto Borough, Franklin County. Residential and recreational areas in and around: (Greene Township) Luther Drive, Mickey Inn Road, Sycamore Grove Road, Starr Ave, Roosevelt Drive, Knob Hill Road, Village Parkway (Chambersburg Borough) North and South Penn Hall Drive, (Mont Alto Borough) the entire borough, and surrounding communities will be sprayed for adult mosquitoes. If Southampton is included the spray will take place around Thornwood Road and Lindsay Lot Road.
The control work in these areas will begin around sunset on the following dates: Monday, September 27 and Tuesday, September, 28
High populations of adult mosquitoes that are extremely aggressive and a nuisance towards humans have been detected in these areas.
The truck mounted ULV spray will be conducted by Franklin County. The County’s Mosquito and Tick Borne Disease Control Specialist will be on-site for the application. The business license for Franklin County is BU 13939. The product used will be Deltagard applied at a rate of 0.75 oz/ac. This product is designed to provide quick knockdown and effective control of adult mosquitoes.
