Park Maintenance Crew Leader
Greene Township is looking to fill a full time position of Park Maintenance Crew Leader.
Our Scotland, PA township park seeks self-starters working in a team environment to lead the ground maintenance crews with activities such as trash removal, general grounds keeping and mowing, athletic field maintenance and game preparation, playground maintenance, event set-ups, light trades activities (i.e., painting and carpentry), facility cleaning and organization, equipment maintenance, and natural turf and synthetic field maintenance.
DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITY
The incumbent will serve as the maintenance crew leader on behalf of the Board of Supervisors and as the central point of control for all parks and recreation maintenance operations. The incumbent will be responsible for the maintenance of all Township owned and managed recreation facilities, including game day preparation of sports fields. The incumbent will manage full-time, part-time and seasonal employees and contractors engaged in maintenance activities required to sustain the Township recreation operations. The incumbent will be expected to ensure that the facilities are safe and usable.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Three to five years’ experience preferred in recreation facility maintenance management, including supervision of employees
- Performance as a skilled parks maintenance worker
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Ability to be a team leader
- Successful history in facility management
- Minimum of three years of management or recreation facility maintenance requested.
- Completion of high school diploma or GED is required
- Must currently have (or obtain within 1 year of hire) the Pesticide Applicator License pertinent to parks and the Playground Safety Inspection Certification.
- Required to operate all Township maintenance equipment
- Must be somewhat computer literate (able to read and respond to email, send digital photographs, review documents on file).
- Must not have any disciplinary action (written reprimand or suspension) in their file during the preceding two years
- Must have and maintain a valid Commonwealth of Pennsylvania motor vehicle operator’s license, 5 years clean driving history, and be insurable in the independent opinion of the Township’s motor vehicle insurance underwriter, in order to be eligible for this position.
Generally, the working hours are 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, Monday-Friday. Work may require some scheduled hours on weekends and some evenings. This is a full time position based upon a schedule of 40 hours/week. Greene Township offers a full package of benefits and starting salary range of $48,000 to $53,000.
