Public Hearing – Burkholder Conditional Use Permit
PUBLIC NOTICE
Notice of a public hearing is hereby given pursuant to the provisions of the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code (Act 247 and Act 170 as amended) and the Greene Township Code (as amended). The public hearing will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 in the Greene Township Building Meeting Room, 1145 Garver Lane, Chambersburg, PA 17202. The purpose of the public hearing is for the Greene Township Board of Supervisors to receive evidence and testimony regarding a request for a Conditional Use Permit submitted by Clinton & Kara Burkholder, 3099 Grand Point Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202. The Burkholder property is currently utilized for a dairy farming operation. The property is located in the R-1 (Low Density Residential) Zoning District. Proposed is expansion of the operation that will include additional cattle and construction of six additional buildings: 1 barn, 1 pack barn, 1 storage building, 1 milk parlor and 2 sheds as well as various drives, swales and basins. Animal husbandry involving greater than 100 cattle is listed as a Conditional Use in the R-1 Zoning District. The request is in reference to Greene Township Code 105-7.B(13), and Greene Township Code 105-60 Conditional Use regulations. Following the conclusion of the public hearing, the Board of Supervisors may vote on granting the Conditional Use Permit during the regular portion of the Board of Supervisors meeting commencing at 7:00 p.m. on July 9, 2024 in the Greene Township Building Meeting Room, 1145 Garver Lane, Chambersburg, PA 17202.
