At 6:43 AM, Greene Township Emergency Management Agency (EMA) was alerted to a widespread power outage in Greene Township. With temperatures at 9°F, concerns included cold weather emergencies, traffic signal outages, and potential flooding from frozen pipes.
Key Actions Taken:
- Generators were deployed to traffic signals.
- Fire chiefs were notified to keep crews on standby.
- Nursing homes were contacted to assess resident needs.
- Coordination ensured readiness for transportation and warming shelters.
Thanks to efficient coordination, no significant incidents or injuries occurred. Operations discontinued approximately 9:30 AM.
